The current opportunity is for a full-time, hybrid Project Coordinator position based in Indianapolis, Indiana, offering a pay range of $34 to $36 per hour. This position requires presence onsite three days per week with two days operating remotely. The role centers on the coordination, synchronization, and implementation of Initiative 4 under the GROW: Cultivating Hoosier Health / Rural Health Transformation Program, which focuses on enhancing pediatric and obstetric readiness in rural emergency departments. The Project Coordinator will provide vital leadership for this initiative, managing end-to-end project activities including developing workplans, managing timelines, mitigating risks, and tracking milestones to ensure alignment with grant requirements. They will also serve as a critical liaison integrating efforts across various state departments such as the Indiana Department of Health and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, in addition to regional healthcare coalitions, local hospitals, and EMS agencies.

In this capacity, the coordinator will facilitate comprehensive needs assessments, training programs, equipment deployment, and technical support aimed at strengthening emergency care capabilities within rural communities. Regular engagement with stakeholders will be pivotal, involving the orchestration of meetings, workgroups, and continuous communication with Emergency Care Coordinators and perinatal centers to document decisions and follow through on action items. Reporting and compliance duties are essential aspects of the role, demanding accurate performance tracking and detailed report preparation for internal leadership and federal partners. This role calls for a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects independently and as part of a team, ensuring the consistent application of standardized procedures such as templates, SOPs, and checklists throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidates with senior project management experience, particularly within public health, emergency preparedness, hospital or EMS operations, or maternal and child health, are encouraged to apply.   • Hospital ED experience
  • RN licensure

Job Duties

  • Provide end-to-end senior project management for Initiative 4 including workplan development timelines risk management and tracking of milestones and deliverables aligned with RHTP GROW grant requirements
  • Coordinate activities between IDOH FSSA Indiana Emergency Medical Services for Children EMSC Indiana Department of Homeland Security IDHS regional healthcare coalitions and local rural hospitals and EMS agencies
  • Support planning and execution of needs assessments training equipment deployment and technical assistance offered to rural EDs and EMS under Initiative 4
  • Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings workgroups and communications to connect Emergency Care Coordinators ECCs perinatal centers non-birthing facilities and EMS partners documenting decisions action items and follow-up
  • Track and report on Initiative 4 performance metrics to inform grant reporting and quality improvement
  • Ensure compliance with RHTP and state requirements including documentation needed for federal and state oversight
  • Assist program leadership with preparation of status reports dashboards and narrative updates for internal leadership GROW governance and federal partners
  • Develop and maintain standardized tools templates SOPs checklists for consistent implementation across rural regions and healthcare systems
  • Organize and support outreach education and communication strategies to rural EDs and EMS agencies
