Job Description

PowerFlex, an EDF Renewables company, is a leading national provider of intelligent onsite energy solutions that support carbon-free electrification and transportation. The company delivers integrated solar, storage, EV charging, and microgrid systems to businesses and organizations across the United States. As a full-service provider, PowerFlex customizes clean technology solutions designed to help clients achieve their energy and sustainability goals effectively and efficiently. Their comprehensive PowerFlex X platform leverages patented smart software to control, monitor, and optimize a client’s distributed energy resources. This technology helps reduce costs and maximize return on investment through advanced analytics and real-time management.

The technology powering PowerFlex was developed at Caltech and honed through partnerships with leading research institutions such as NASA. The platform has been proven effective with notable customers including Netflix and Children's Hospital and is now scaling to serve fleets, corporations, and municipalities nationwide. As part of one of the largest and most innovative renewable energy companies, PowerFlex embodies the commitment to transitioning to a sustainable energy future.

PowerFlex is currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join their team in either their Los Angeles or San Diego, California offices. This hybrid role requires applicants to be local and able to work onsite three days per week. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the planning, management, and coordination of multiple solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) energy projects from contract initiation through project completion. This role supports the entire project lifecycle by managing communication between various stakeholders including subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members.

The Project Coordinator will have a hands-on role in navigating township permitting processes, managing resources, coordinating construction management tasks, processing subcontracts, and compiling project close-out documentation. They will assist Project Managers with purchase orders, budgets, bid packages, and subcontracting efforts while continuously seeking improvements in company protocols and project installation practices. This position offers access to comprehensive health and welfare benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off. The compensation ranges from $37 to $45 hourly and may include an annual performance bonus based on qualifications and experience.

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for renewable energy, an interest in construction, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills. The role involves both office work and occasional field operations support, ensuring direct engagement with on-site inspections and project execution activities. Given the dynamic nature of the renewable energy landscape, the Project Coordinator will contribute directly to PowerFlex’s mission of empowering clients to transition toward carbon-free energy solutions using innovative smart technology platforms.
