The Japan Society of Northern California (JSNC) is a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding and stronger relationships between the United States and Japan. Job Requirements

  • Experience with event coordination, administration, or nonprofit work
  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping or CRM systems
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Mailchimp, WordPress, Eventbrite, Canva, Zoom
  • Japanese language skills are a plus
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Assist with planning and execution of in-person and virtual events
  • Coordinate with speakers, sponsors, and attendees
  • Manage event registrations and communications
  • Provide on-site or virtual event support
  • Support daily office operations and communications
  • Maintain organized records, calendars, and project timelines
  • Assist with basic IT and systems (e.g., Google Workspace, shared tools)
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage office supplies
  • Assist with basic bookkeeping (AP/AR, expense tracking)
  • Maintain records and support coordination with accounting partners
  • Update and manage CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and membership data
  • Assist with member communications
  • Manage email campaigns, website updates, and event promotion
  • Support member renewals and requests
