We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Baker to join our dynamic bakery team. The Baker will be responsible for preparing, baking, and packaging an array of bakery items while maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and customer service. Reporting directly to the Bakery Manager, you will assist in pricing, merchandising, and maintaining the bakery's high-quality presentation. The role requires a commitment to food safety standards, product quality, and stock management including proper rotation and discarding of outdated items to ensure the freshest goods are always available to customers.

In addition to baking duties, the Baker plays a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service by engaging positively with customers, taking special orders by phone, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. The position demands adaptability with scheduling as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical endurance is important, as the Baker will stand for extended periods and handle tasks requiring moderate lifting. Working with bakery equipment including knives and scales is essential, along with maintaining sanitation standards to comply with health and safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or relevant education
  • be dependable and adaptable
  • be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • have strong customer service and communication skills
  • be able to follow directions and work well in a team
  • be physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights
  • comply with safety, health, and food handling regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess 1-2 years of bakery experience or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • be dependable and adaptable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • exhibit a friendly demeanor and a positive attitude with strong customer interaction skills
  • possess good communication abilities and be a team player who can follow directions
  • perform general housekeeping within the department ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas
  • operate bakery equipment including knives and scales and accurately weigh and label products
  • be capable of standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights as required

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager with baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all bakery items
  • deliver outstanding customer service while ensuring all bakery products are prepared, packaged, and presented with cleanliness in mind
  • maintain a clean and sanitary bakery area and equipment, including regular cleaning of shelves, floors, and products
  • ensure pricing accuracy and proper stock rotation, discarding any outdated or spoiled items
  • receive and inspect product shipments for accuracy and quality
  • take special orders over the phone
  • comply with all safety, health, and food handling regulations
