Known for its employee-owned culture, Publix emphasizes a supportive work environment and opportunities for career growth. The company operates numerous stores, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities that contribute to its reputation as a leader in the retail grocery industry. Publix values its associates and strives to maintain a safe, inclusive, and productive workplace, offering comprehensive benefits and incentives to its team members.

This job opening is for multiple positions within Publix's bakery production and sanitation teams. Available roles include Packer, Line Worker, and Sanitor, with placement depending on the applicant's specific skills and experience. The positions primarily focus on handling and preparing bakery products destined for Publix stores, ensuring product quality, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the production environment. The Packer is responsible for packaging bakery products efficiently for distribution, the Line Worker assists with placing products on the production line and applying toppings, while the Sanitor handles cleaning equipment using industrial-strength chemicals in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). These roles are vital to the seamless operation of the bakery production process, supporting both product quality and workplace safety.

Shifts are offered on a rotating day schedule to accommodate production needs, with start times ranging from early morning at 3:00 a.m. to mid-morning at 7:00 a.m., and work hours typically ending in early to mid-afternoon. In addition to competitive pay, weekend differential compensation of $2.00 per hour is provided for hours worked between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday, enhancing overall earnings. Additionally, employees are eligible for a year-end holiday bonus awarded based on length of continuous service, incentivizing commitment and rewarding contributions to the company. Publix emphasizes punctuality, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality standards across all roles. Applicants must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy items and operating machinery safely, and maintain excellent attendance and work ethics. Training is provided, including the opportunity to obtain a forklift license to help operate equipment efficiently.

Working at Publix offers a well-rounded employment experience that combines meaningful work, competitive compensation, and a broad range of employee benefits. These benefits include an employee stock ownership plan that allocates Publix stock to associates annually at no cost, enhancing financial participation in the company's success. In addition, employees can purchase additional stock and participate in a 401(k) retirement savings plan, supporting long-term financial security. Comprehensive group health, dental, and vision insurance plans are available, along with paid time off and paid parental leave to support work-life balance. Other benefits include short- and long-term disability insurance, tuition reimbursement for continuing education, and free buffet-style hot lunches at facilities equipped with cafeterias. The work environment promotes active engagement, pride, and growth within a renowned company that values its employees and their contributions to Publix's ongoing mission.
