Job Description
Daily's Premium Meats is a renowned leader in the food processing industry, specializing in the production of high-quality meat products. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, Daily's continuously strives to maintain its position as a trusted supplier by upholding rigorous standards of safety, quality, and sustainability. The company emphasizes a strong workplace culture grounded in its core values—putting people first, doing the right thing, championing change, and winning through teamwork. As an equal opportunity employer, Daily's Premium Meats promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a welcoming environment where every employee is valued and respected regardless of their background.
The Department Production Supervisor role at Daily's Premium Meats is a pivotal leadership position responsible for ensuring employee safety, product quality, and optimal asset performance while meeting production schedules consistently. This role requires leading a team of approximately 30 employees through hands-on supervision, coaching, and mentoring to motivate and engage staff across various shifts. The supervisor is actively involved in the hiring process, onboarding new employees, managing performance, and applying corrective actions when necessary. This position champions the Daily's PACT Values by modeling leadership that cultivates a positive, proactive, and result-driven workplace environment.
The Production Supervisor collaborates closely with the Production Manager and other departments, participating in the continuous improvement of departmental operations. This includes identifying and resolving operational issues, implementing corrective and preventive measures, and supporting quality management systems such as HACCP and GMPs. Additionally, the supervisor plays a critical role in employee training and development by coordinating with the Training Manager to ensure all new hires receive comprehensive training and ongoing skill development.
In this role, attention to detail is paramount; the supervisor maintains accurate records of production activities, equipment operating conditions, and downtime, preparing reports for upper management. They enforce safety policies and procedures rigorously, ensuring all team members operate equipment correctly during start-up, operation, and shutdown phases. The supervisor also takes responsibility for conducting prescribed equipment checks and working collaboratively with suppliers, vendors, and senior staff to maintain production standards and customer satisfaction.
Candidates with a background in food processing, packaging, quality, or supply chain management and at least three years of leadership experience will find this role rewarding. The ideal candidate is well-versed in continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean manufacturing and Kaizen processes, with proven skills in root cause analysis and problem-solving. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively managing team dynamics and fostering a culture of continuous learning and cooperation.
The work environment is dynamic, ranging from office settings to production floors and outdoor conditions that may include cold or wet environments. Physical demands include occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds and the ability to move efficiently across the production area, including climbing ladders or platforms. Flexibility in work schedules is required to meet the demands of the production cycle.
Joining Daily's Premium Meats as a Department Production Supervisor means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on bringing excellence to the table every day, making a tangible impact on product quality and team success within a supportive and inclusive organization.
