Job Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking or apprenticeship or certification from culinary school
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
  • Understanding of financial controls such as food cost management, stock control, and waste minimization
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Service orientation
  • Leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Job Duties

  • Execute and supervise food production activities such as cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking food items
  • Assume responsibilities of Executive Chef when not available including vacation coverage and menu presentations
  • Supervise, coordinate, and control kitchen helpers in food storage and maintain tidiness following first in - first out principle
  • Conduct, coordinate, and supervise inventories
  • Monitor material consumption and order food and equipment to meet daily production plan
  • Participate in the development of food products and menus for presentations
  • Maintain and monitor hygiene, health, and safety standards and ensure adherence to HACCP regulations
