Job Description

This position is with a reputable food manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality food products while adhering to stringent food safety standards. The Production Operator role is critical within the company’s production team. This role involves hands-on activities such as mixing ingredients according to exact company directions, operating and monitoring machinery, and packaging food products following all safety protocols. Production Operators play a vital part in ensuring every product meets the quality standards before it reaches consumers. The job entails frequent interaction with various departments, including outsourced labor and supervisory personnel, to facilitate smooth and efficient operations. Shift flexibility is integral due to the nature of the production environment, including providing break or meal relief across multiple positions as needed.

Success in this role depends on the ability to work continuously on feet for long periods, typically standing for 8 hours at a time, and lifting moderate weights regularly up to 50 pounds. The Production Operator must demonstrate competency in all on-the-job activities affecting food safety, production, and product quality. They also have responsibilities for maintaining equipment in optimal condition, understanding machinery operation, and adhering strictly to safety policies. Additionally, operators may be trained and certified to operate specialized equipment like metal detectors, further emphasizing their contribution to food safety.

Additional responsibilities include conducting continuous product inspections, training peers, and assisting in the maintenance of a positive work environment that enhances interdepartmental communication and operational efficiency. This is a full-time position, requiring dependable transportation and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.   • clear understanding and proven abilities in managing multiple priorities
  • knowledge and ability to perform as backup to any assembly/test position

Job Duties

  • Mixes ingredients according to company directions
  • loads mixtures into machines
  • safely runs machines and notifies supervisor of any problems with machinery
  • sets up packing supplies according to company protocol
  • safely packages product according to protocols
  • ensures that production and outsourced labor are properly instructed in the care and safe operation of equipment and monitors employee use of such equipment
  • reviews records and procedures to ensure proper use of time and materials
