The role of Production Operator I at Airgas in Brush Prairie, WA, is a pivotal position within the filling industrial segment of the company. Duties include staging cylinders in designated production areas, loading and unloading assigned vehicles daily, spotting trucks and trailers, and transferring cylinders to and from ground storage as necessary. Additionally, the Production Operator I assists in removing filled cylinders from the filling area, downgrading pure products as required to fulfill orders completely, and reporting shortages or cylinder discrepancies to management. Job Duties

  • Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported
  • Safely operate forklift, hand-trucks, pallet-jacks, and other equipment to load and unload compressed and liquid industrial gas cylinders
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by fostering good relationships with vendors, co-workers, and management
  • Stage cylinders in designated production plant areas for filling to minimize handling
  • Load and unload all assigned company vehicles daily
  • Spot trucks and trailers within designated company property areas
  • Transfer cylinders to and from ground storage as needed
  • Assist production personnel in removing full cylinders from the fill area
  • Downgrade pure product as needed to ensure complete order fulfillment
  • Report all cylinder shortages and discrepancies to management
  • Inspect cylinders for general condition and report discrepancies
  • Maintain equipment and communicate maintenance needs to Plant Manager
  • Contribute to cleaning and maintaining the assigned work area
  • Attend and participate in all safety meetings
  • Maintain and operate a clean, safe, and orderly plant appearance
  • Report any equipment or facility defects to supervisor
  • Adhere to scheduled work shifts and demonstrate consistent punctuality
  • Perform reasonable work requests aligned with skills and potential
