The Manager, Production role is a vital part of the Event Center Entertainment Department, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Production. This full-time leadership position is responsible for ensuring technical excellence across a wide range of live entertainment events held both on-site and off-site. The Manager will oversee and manage a team comprised of Audio, Visual, and Lighting technicians, as well as various crew staff, to deliver flawless event execution. This role demands excellent organizational skills and forward thinking because of the high volume and complexity of events scheduled every year.
Key responsibilities include managing day-of-show production activities, collaborating with multiple departments such as Information Technology, Facilities, Fire, and Casino Marketing to ensure every event runs smoothly, on time, and within budget. The Manager, Production also plays a pivotal role in strategic planning by contributing to the development and enforcement of departmental policies and procedures, managing equipment inventory and maintenance, coordinating with vendors, and staying current with audiovisual technology trends. This ensures that the resort’s entertainment experiences remain innovative and competitive.
Beyond technical oversight, this role requires strong leadership qualities, including the ability to hire, train, evaluate, and motivate staff while fostering a collaborative and effective workplace culture. The Manager, Production must demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving acumen, and the ability to work under pressure during high-demand events. An understanding of budgeting and expense monitoring is also critical to the role.
This position operates within a fast-paced and physically active entertainment environment that includes exposure to both indoor and outdoor settings. The Manager must be capable of attending to various physical demands, including lifting equipment, standing for extended periods, and traveling to different event locations or trade shows. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in music, audio visual engineering or related field required
- Minimum of three years experience in live audio productions required
- Minimum of three years management experience managing concerts and live events required
- Experience managing complex projects and production processes
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and stage plots
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Working knowledge of budgets and expense monitoring
- Ability to work varied hours including weekends and holidays
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be personable, professional and maintain confidentiality
- Strong leadership, motivational, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and move up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Must maintain compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Audio Visual Engineering or related field
- Minimum of three years of experience in live audio productions
- Minimum of three years of management experience managing concerts and live events
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Experience managing complex projects inclusive of production advance and execution
- Preferred experience with L-Acoustics K2 speaker package, Grand Ma3 lighting console, and LED imaging systems
- Troubleshooting skills with sound and lighting systems including intelligent lighting and show control systems
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints and stage plots
- Experience supervising audio, lighting, video techs, stagehands, and riggers
- Understanding of preventative and stage maintenance best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Working knowledge in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Analytical problem solving with focus on team environment and results
- Strong leadership and people management with good motivational skills
- Ability to delegate, multitask, lead, and prioritize effectively

Job Duties
- Serve as day of show manager for all site audio/visual projects in the theater in collaboration with other departments
- Ensure all technical and physical elements are ready for events and provide contractors with necessary technical data including blueprints
- Advise performers and contractors on space utilization, special arrangements, building policies, and fire regulations
- Collaborate with Senior Manager, Production to create and implement departmental policies and procedures
- Participate in budget and vendor bid process to ensure competitive pricing
- Oversee equipment maintenance and manage the AV asset inventory system
- Manage installation, troubleshooting and programming of AV systems at the Events Center
- Perform other duties to support efficient departmental operations
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions
- Make hiring decisions and develop individual development plans with succession planning
