This particular role reports directly to the production department and is vital in ensuring the dough mixing process runs smoothly and accurately to meet production demands.

The Production Dough Mixer position involves the precise preparation and mixing of raw ingredients according to detailed recipes and production paperwork. This role requires attentive reading and interpretation of ingredient lists and recipes, accurate weighing and measuring of materials like flour, water, yeast, and other components, and operating large-scale industrial mixing equipment. The Production Dough Mixer must closely monitor the quality and consistency of the dough throughout the mixing process, ensuring optimal temperature and development times are maintained to meet product specifications. This level of accuracy is critical to guarantee the final bakery products meet safety and quality standards.

Beyond mixing, the role includes coordinating with production line leaders to deliver dough to the appropriate stations at the correct time, maintaining production flow and line balance. The mixer is responsible for meticulous record-keeping, entering batch information and ingredient details into batch sheets or digital tracking systems. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by following food safety protocols, allergen control procedures, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Though sanitizing duties are handled by the dedicated sanitation team, the Production Dough Mixer collaborates closely with this team to ensure all equipment and work areas adhere to sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).

This full-time role requires physical stamina to stand for 8 to 12-hour shifts, often in high-temperature environments typical of food production facilities. The Production Dough Mixer must be capable of safely lifting and carrying loads up to 50-55 pounds. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills are essential to thrive in this fast-paced production setting. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous but not mandatory. Compensation for this role is set at $15.00 per hour, reflecting the importance and responsibility entrusted to this position. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food production, commercial baking, or manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50-55 pounds
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to comply with safety rules and OSHA regulations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Accurately measure and weigh raw ingredients such as flour, water, yeast, etc., and load them into industrial mixers in the correct sequence
  • Operate, monitor, and tend industrial mixing equipment and related machinery, ensuring proper mixing cycles and speeds
  • Monitor dough consistency, temperature, and development times, adjusting as needed to meet product specifications
  • Record batch information, ingredient lot numbers, and production data on batch sheets or digital systems
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Coordinate with production line leaders to ensure dough is delivered to dividers/shapers on time to maintain production flow
  • Perform other related duties as requested by management
