As a Produce team member, you will be pivotal in maintaining the freshness and appeal of produce displays by ensuring shelves are well-stocked, products are rotated appropriately, and spoilage is minimized. You will assist in organizing seasonal and volume products, perform opening, mid, and closing duties, and contribute to maintaining a sanitary and safe environment. Your ability to proactively sell, learn about products, and communicate effectively with customers and team members will be essential to your success. This role demands a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Job Requirements

  • no prior retail experience required
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours per day
  • hand use with single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach as needed
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed and dressed

Job Duties

  • ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products
  • assists team leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • monitors and prevents spoilage and communicates waste to buyers, team leaders, and shift supervisor
  • completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
  • assists with periodic inventory checks
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
