The role of Produce Team Leader at Whole Foods Market is a vital leadership position focused on managing and guiding the Produce, coffee, and juice department within the store. This role involves supervising scheduling and daily operations, ensuring that product displays are attractive and fully stocked, and supporting team leaders to maintain smooth, efficient workflows. The Produce Team Leader is entrusted with training team members, providing ongoing mentorship, and evaluating performance to sustain low turnover and skill development. The leader must maintain compliance with food safety and regulatory guidelines, promoting a safe and sanitary environment. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds

- 12+ months retail experience
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to produce team members
- works with produce trainer to train team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover
- assists in training of new team members utilizing learning checklists and training materials
- keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated
- opens and closes department according to established procedures
- ensures all necessary breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to the team leader and associate team leader
- sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution
- fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
- maintains awareness of customer flows and needs and directs team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers
- responds promptly to customer needs and questions
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover
- provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations
