The available position is for a PRN Cook who will play a vital role in the culinary team. The PRN Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals that meet the dietary requirements of senior residents, many of whom require specialized nutrition due to health conditions. This PRN (per diem) position requires availability for the AM shift from Tuesday through Saturday, with an anticipated pay range between $20 and $23 per hour USD. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking (grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking)
  • Food Handlers Certificate from the County Department of Environmental Health
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Effective communicator in verbal and written English
  • Ability to read and follow menus and recipes, including substitutions
  • Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia
  • Active role: walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards
  • Comfortable working around animals and pets
