The Concierge position at Cedarhurst plays a crucial role within this vibrant senior living community. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Concierge serves as the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and staff, ensuring a warm welcome and an exceptional customer service experience. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, organized, and supportive environment by monitoring entry and exit points, assisting residents with their daily needs, and coordinating communications throughout the community. Beyond front desk responsibilities, the Concierge provides vital clerical and administrative support to the Executive Director, Business Office, and Sales & Marketing teams, aiding in the smooth operation of community functions. The Concierge is involved in various duties such as managing mail and packages, handling calls, assisting with resident transportation and event reservations, managing guest meal sales, and monitoring emergency systems. This position requires someone who is not only organized and attentive but also empathetic and capable of engaging in conflict resolution when necessary. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in customer service preferred
- ability to use digital tools and applications including Microsoft Office
- strong communication skills
- ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance
- adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
- capability to engage in conflict resolution
- willingness to follow directions and take initiative
- pass background check and drug screening
- participation in health assessments such as TB testing
- use of personal protective equipment as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or similar setting preferred
- CPR or BLS certification preferred
- demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and HR-related systems as applicable
Job Duties
- Welcome residents, visitors, and guests, providing exceptional customer service and assistance
- monitor the community's entry and exit points, signing in guests and residents, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- regularly engage with residents helping them feel valued and cared for
- receive and distribute mail and packages
- manage external and internal calls, taking and communicating messages, and forwarding calls appropriately
- assist the Executive Director & Business Office Manager with clerical/administrative duties and support the Sales & Marketing team with sales inquiries as needed
- assist residents with scheduling personal transportation services and community event reservations
- manage sale of guest meals and process credit card transactions when necessary
- submit work order requests to Maintenance on behalf of residents
- monitor emergency response system and fire alarm panel
- ensure effective communication between community staff and residents’ families about residents’ care and well-being
- collaborate with management and staff, take initiative, and engage in conflict intervention and resolution
- perform other duties as assigned
