GameStop is a prominent global retailer specializing in video games, gaming merchandise, and electronics. Renowned for its dedication to delivering exceptional service and the latest gaming products, GameStop caters to the diverse needs of gamers worldwide. The company prides itself on creating unforgettable experiences for customers by continually pushing the boundaries of innovation in the gaming industry. Whether customers are hardcore gamers or just starting out, GameStop offers a wide array of products to meet every gamer’s preferences and elevate their gaming journey.
The role of Private Project Manager at GameStop is a critical, full-time, on-site position located in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami, FL area. This role demands a disciplined and highly organized individual to plan and execute complex, multi-stakeholder personal and household projects for a senior executive. These projects range from renovations and relocations to managing extensive logistics, events, and special initiatives. The Private Project Manager will be responsible for building efficient project systems, managing multiple vendors, handling budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of projects that meet high standards—all without a technical or software project management focus.
Candidates considering this role should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment typically seen in major metropolitan areas, with an expectation of high standards, urgency, and utmost discretion. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience managing multi-faceted personal projects such as property renovations, relocations, and significant events or initiatives. This role also requires flexibility to accommodate occasional evening, weekend, or holiday engagements and the agility to respond promptly to urgent changes in project timelines.
Among the key responsibilities of this role is translating the principal's goals into actionable project scopes, timelines, and budgets, alongside establishing clear success criteria. The project manager will oversee parallel workstreams across properties and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, designers, contractors, and homeowners' associations. This role emphasizes strong vendor and contract management through sourcing, vetting proposals, negotiating terms, and ensuring service-level agreements are met with accountability.
The Private Project Manager also takes charge of planning and executing private events, managing one-off initiatives such as major purchases and asset setups, and conducting thorough research to provide well-informed recommendations that balance tradeoffs. Risk management is paramount, emphasizing anticipation of issues, developing contingency plans, and maintaining meticulous documentation. Regular progress updates and executive-ready summaries are essential to keep stakeholders informed and projects aligned with strategic goals.
This position requires proficiency with project and task management tools such as Asana, Trello, or Google Sheets, and familiarity with productivity suites like Google Workspace or Microsoft Office. Given the sensitive nature of the role, demonstrated discretion and trustworthiness are critical characteristics. Candidates currently based in other major metropolitan markets are welcome to apply with the expectation of relocation to the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area. GameStop supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, 401(k), employee discounts, and participation in incentive programs to foster a rewarding work environment.
As part of the GameStop team, the Private Project Manager will contribute significantly to shaping the future of gaming by supporting the senior executive in personal and household project management that parallels the innovation and excellence for which GameStop is known globally. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about delivering high-quality project results while managing complex, sensitive assignments in a leadership capacity.
