The Private Event Sales Manager role at Legends Global is a pivotal position focusing on driving revenue through the strategic booking of private events at the prestigious U.S. Bank Stadium, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This stadium, owned by the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose venue with seating for over 66,000 guests. It hosts a wide array of events including NFL games for the Minnesota Vikings, concerts, family shows, collegiate and high school sports, conventions, trade shows, corporate events, receptions, and private celebrations, making it a highly vibrant and diverse event location. Since opening in 2016, the stadium has successfully hosted more than 2,000 events with attendance exceeding 10.3 million guests.

The Private Event Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting new business opportunities, engaging with potential clients both locally and nationally, and cultivating long-term relationships to support the overall sales objectives of the Private Event Sales department. The position requires a consultative sales approach that balances inbound and outbound lead generation, client site visits, and active participation in trade shows and industry events. The manager must be adept at creating customized proposals and contracts that highlight the unique value proposition of the stadium while ensuring all agreements align with legal and venue policies. Reporting directly to the Director of Private Event Sales, the role involves detailed coordination with clients and internal teams to ensure seamless event booking and execution. This role is classified as exempt with a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $65,000 plus commission, reflecting the significance and seniority of the position within the organizational structure.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 4 years of relevant experience in sports, attractions, or hotel industry preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in a union work environment preferred
  • must be flexible to work extended hours including late nights, weekends, holidays, games, and major stadium events

  • ability to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours during a single shift navigating ramps, stairs, and elevators
  • bachelor’s degree in a related area of study preferred
  • 4 years of applicable experience in sports, attractions, or hotel industry preferred
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Proactively seek and secure event bookings through outbound prospecting, networking, and industry event participation
  • utilize a consultative sales approach to maximize revenue and achieve or exceed assigned sales targets
  • research and identify potential clients across all target market segments including corporate meetings, social events, SMERF markets, and high-profile accounts
  • qualify leads to ensure alignment with stadium event space capabilities and business objectives
  • serve as the primary point of contact for clients from initial inquiry to the pass off to the event management team
  • build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, local industry organizations, destination management companies (DMCs), and third-party planners
  • respond to inbound inquiries, conduct site visits, create tailored proposals, and finalize agreements for all private events
  • create customized estimates and proposals that highlight the stadium’s value proposition
  • ensure timely contract execution, manage redlines, and oversee compliance with venue policies and legal requirements
  • maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and revenue tracking in the CRM/booking management system
  • represent the stadium at trade shows, client meetings, and industry networking events
  • stay informed on industry trends and competitor offerings
  • provide regular sales forecasts, revenue reports, and pipeline updates to leadership
  • ensure all contracts, insurance documentation, and licensing agreements align with company policies and regulatory requirements
