Job Requirements

  • Minimum education, typically GED or high school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years food service experience
  • Previous line cook experience in relevant settings
  • Culinary training preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification current
  • Food Handlers credential current
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to meet health and food handling regulations
  • Capability to perform physical work and emergency support
  • Willingness to be available for emergencies
  • Pre-employment screening including physical, TB test, and background check

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years applicable food service experience
  • Previous line cook experience in hotel, restaurant, or senior living settings
  • Culinary training certification or degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and speak English effectively
  • Knowledge of local health department, OSHA, and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Food Handlers credential required
  • Continuing Education Credits annually
  • Experience with menu presentation, food preparation, and production
  • Ability to prepare all items on the menu as instructed

Job Duties

  • Provide full-scope, hands-on production cooking in the Culinary Services Department
  • Maintain superior quality service and cleanliness
  • Follow appropriate food handling and preparation techniques
  • Ensure safe and sanitary cooking practices
  • Produce and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional criteria
  • Follow recipes and cook foods to Signature Dining standards
  • Maintain proper food storage including covering, labeling, and dating
  • Complete meal production records accurately and timely
  • Conduct evaluations for food service improvements
  • Observe HIPAA regulations regarding resident dietary needs
  • Seat residents, families, and guests
  • Greet residents and ensure full Signature Dining experience
  • Assist with dining room duties and restocking
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions
  • Uphold residents' rights and company policies
  • Assist with resident care and emergency support
  • Perform other duties as assigned
