The Assistant Night Crew Chief position is a significant role within the Operations Department reporting to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Night Crew Chief. This role focuses on supervising and monitoring the night crew clerks to ensure that merchandise pricing, stocking, facing, and rotation in the grocery area are maintained according to company standards. The Assistant Night Crew Chief helps sustain the store's attractive image by ensuring cleanliness, neatness, and availability of products, contributing to customer satisfaction and a positive shopping environment. The role involves performing a variety of tasks—ranging from merchandise management and stock organization to safety compliance and equipment operation. Job Duties
- observe store rules and company policies
- maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance and comply with dress code
- adhere to assigned shift operating hours
- follow all local, state and federal health and civil code regulations
- promote customer satisfaction by maintaining a full variety of correctly priced and signed items
- rotate products to ensure freshness
- maintain proper shelf allocations
- follow cleaning and sanitation schedules
- remove trash and cardboard and operate bailer
- handle damaged and spoiled products per company policy
- notify supervisor of product shortages
- transfer overstock to storage areas
- build product displays
- organize and clean backroom stock
- unload trucks as necessary
- operate power equipment and bailer
- perform cash handling functions
- use store security systems and keys properly
- maintain and complete food safety certification
- perform other duties as assigned
