Spring Education Group's Early Childhood Education Division offers a comprehensive spectrum of early learning experiences through nearly 150 schools nationwide. Chesterbrook Academy, part of this influential network, is currently seeking a Preschool Cook who will play a pivotal role in supporting the academy's commitment to nourishing young learners. This position is vital in ensuring that children receive well-balanced, nutritious meals that contribute to their overall health, growth, and sustained energy throughout the school day. The Preschool Cook is responsible for preparing age-appropriate meals and snacks according to meticulous standards, maintaining exemplary cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, and ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal food safety regulations.
The ideal candidate for this role demonstrates a passion for cooking, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the importance of food in early childhood development. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- meet state licensing requirements
- possess or be willing to obtain Food Handler's Certification
- have authorization to work in the United States
- able to follow recipes and safety regulations consistently
- demonstrate strong organizational skills and reliability
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and meet state licensing requirements
- previous experience in food preparation, meal service, or kitchen operations preferred (school, childcare, or commercial setting is a plus)
- current Food Handler's Certification or willingness to obtain
- ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and safety regulations with consistency
- strong organizational skills, reliability, and a positive, collaborative work style
- authorization to work in the United States
Job Duties
- Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks following approved menus and portion guidelines
- maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment in accordance with state licensing, health, and sanitation standards
- monitor food inventory, receive deliveries, and manage storage, labeling, and rotation using proper food-handling practices
- accommodate allergy and dietary restrictions with accuracy and great attention to detail
- collaborate with school leadership to support menu planning, food budgeting, and compliance reporting
- build positive relationships with staff and contribute to a warm, team-oriented school culture
