The role of Prep & Pantry Cook is vital to the smooth functioning of the kitchen at Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers. This position focuses on preparing ingredients, organizing the pantry, and supporting various kitchen operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes. The Prep & Pantry Cook assists with food preparation tasks such as measuring and weighing ingredients, chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and adhering to recipe and portion guidelines. Additionally, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace is a key responsibility. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a team-oriented mindset. Candidates must comply with all health and safety standards, including food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Since the kitchen environment can be fast-paced and physically demanding, the ideal applicant will be able to work efficiently, stay organized, and contribute positively to team dynamics.

Job Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid Food Handlers Certification
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and work with minimal supervision

Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of food items by accurately measuring and weighing ingredients, cutting, and chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and following recipes and portion guidelines
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked pantry by receiving and inspecting deliveries, rotating stock, properly storing ingredients, and notifying the appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished
- Ensure that all necessary equipment, utensils, and supplies are set up and ready for use by the line cooks and chefs
- Adhere to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene by regularly cleaning and sanitizing workstations, equipment, and utensils
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report shortages to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
- Help with conducting regular stock counts and maintaining accurate records of inventory usage
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and efficient communication
- Assist in coordinating timing with other kitchen stations to ensure that all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner
- Maintain a keen eye for detail and consistently deliver high-quality food by following standard recipes, portion control, and plating guidelines
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and labeling
- Be flexible and willing to assist in various kitchen duties as assigned, including assisting with line cooking during busy periods or filling in for absent staff members
- Perform other related duties as assigned
