Job Requirements

  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team and management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food preparation or similar kitchen role is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Serve Safe and HACCP food safety standards
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail in maintaining food quality and kitchen cleanliness
  • Basic understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required

Job Duties

  • Assist the team with daily tasks as directed by supervisor or kitchen manager
  • Prepare and portion hot and cold food items including chopping vegetables and preparing sauces
  • Communicate effectively with cafe and kitchen managers
  • Clean and organize workstations ensuring proper storage or disposal of leftover food
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
  • Apply and maintain Serve Safe and HACCP standards for food safety
  • Report problems, incidents, or unsafe conditions to management immediately
  • Assist with receiving and putting away food orders according to guidelines
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations
  • Ensure food quality and proper temperature control
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas
  • Attend department staff meetings as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors to ensure quality food service
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely food delivery
