The role at Whole Foods Market focuses on preparing, serving, and maintaining the quality of prepared foods offered in various venues throughout the store. Working in this capacity means you will be responsible for food preparation, sanitation, stock management, and customer service, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and the company's Standard Operating Procedures. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and working with various tools and equipment. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is also required to meet the operational needs of the store. As part of Whole Foods Market’s commitment to employee development, new Team Members who successfully complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a wage increase. Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to stand or walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour work day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Assist with production for all prepared foods venues
  • ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • ensure product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
  • ensure that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
  • arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
  • provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
  • answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
