The Prepared Foods team member is responsible for cutting, preparing, and serving a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizzas. They also handle product sampling, stocking displays, checking product freshness, and ensuring sanitation standards are met. This role requires a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to maintain a clean and inviting food environment, support team initiatives, and comply with health and safety regulations. Employees are expected to actively engage with customers, support promotional efforts, and assist with inventory management. Whole Foods Market offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $17.00 to $25.40 based on experience, coupled with comprehensive benefits known as "Whole Benefits," which include access to paid time off, financial wellness programs, health support, and a store discount. New team members who successfully complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a base rate increase. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • able to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • able to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • able to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • capable of working in wet and dry conditions
  • availability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • able to safely use knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Cut, prepare, and serve a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza
  • sample products to customers
  • stock hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods
  • check in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotate when necessary
  • bail and consolidate recyclables
  • assist team leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
