This opportunity is for a member of the Prepared Foods team at Whole Foods Market, where team members play a crucial role in preparing, serving, and maintaining a variety of hot and cold food products including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizzas. Working within this role means engaging with customers to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service while contributing to the smooth operations of the prepared foods department. Responsibilities extend beyond food preparation to include tasks such as stocking displays, checking freshness of products, handling recycling, and assisting with inventory and merchandising efforts. The position demands a strong attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and a readiness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a passion for natural and healthy foods. Team members are expected to maintain cleanliness and comply with all health and safety regulations, supporting Whole Foods Market’s mission at every level. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing and walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- hand use single grasping fine manipulation pushing and pulling
- work requires the following motions bending twisting squatting and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures of 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives box cutters electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders

- No prior retail experience required

Job Duties
- Cuts prepares and serves a variety of hot and cold foods including meats cheeses sandwiches burritos wraps salad and pizza
- samples products to customers
- stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from kitchen walk-in preparation and refrigerators
- checks in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotates when necessary
- bails and consolidates recyclables
- assists team leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
- completes spoilage sampling temperature and sweep worksheets as required
