This position is part of the Prepared Foods team, responsible for supporting various aspects of product preparation, counter service, sanitation, and inventory stocking. The role offers hourly pay ranging from $15.00 to $24.40, commensurate with experience, and is eligible for the company's comprehensive benefits program called "Whole Benefits," which includes paid time off, store discounts, health and wellness support, and financial wellness programs.

As a member of the Prepared Foods team, the individual will be actively engaged in preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizzas. The role emphasizes hands-on customer interaction, requiring courteous, efficient, and friendly service to both customers and fellow Team Members. The job demands strict adherence to standardized operating procedures that emphasize food safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations. Team Members are expected to be versatile, capable of performing tasks beyond their primary responsibilities to assist the department effectively. This role also involves completing paperwork related to spoilage, sampling, temperature checks, and sweeping tasks that support inventory control and operational efficiency.

Working conditions include exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, and working on feet for extended periods. Team Members use a variety of tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and may sometimes use ladders. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, with availability required for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Duties

  • Cuts, prepares, and serves a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza
  • samples products to customers
  • stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods
  • checks in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotates when necessary
  • bails and consolidates recyclables
  • assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
  • assists with periodic inventory checks
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follows and complies with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
  • immediately reports safety hazards and violations
