The Prepared Food Team Leader role at Giant Eagle involves managing the Prepared Foods Team across multiple locations, ensuring efficient, smooth operation of the department. As a Prepared Food Team Leader, you will inspire both Team Members and customers to enjoy and explore the pleasure of food. Your responsibilities will include mentoring and guiding your team to deliver exceptional customer service and product knowledge, managing inventory, maintaining safety standards, and achieving sales and profit targets. This role demands a high level of accountability and professionalism, as you will represent the organization while promoting diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect among staff.

The ideal candidate will have retail leadership experience or be recommended for a leadership role by store management. Experience in training and development, as well as firsthand product knowledge relevant to the prepared foods department, is highly valued. The role involves regular coaching and performance appraisal of Team Members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Responsibilities also include overseeing compliance with safety and operational guidelines, managing budgets, and analyzing financial reports to enhance department performance. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • retail work experience or store leader recommendation
  • Food Safety certification
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • satisfactory performance and disciplinary record
