The role of a Prepared Foods Team Member at Whole Foods Market is an integral position that involves various duties related to the preparation, service, sanitation, and stocking of prepared food products. You will actively assist production across all Prepared Foods venues, using accurate measuring devices and adhering strictly to recipes to guarantee consistency in product offerings.

A significant part of the job is hands-on work in maintaining cleanliness and organization of storerooms such as walk-ins and freezers. Job Requirements

  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
  • ability to perform hand use motions including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures below freezing, refrigerated, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and conventional store products
  • ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • provides excellent customer service and addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner
  • models suggestive selling techniques
  • answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • maximizes sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • maintains equipment in accordance with Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
