The role offered at Whole Foods Market involves hands-on work in thePrepared Foods department, where team members play a vital role in food preparation, counter service, sanitation, and product stocking. Candidates for this position will be expected to perform all functions in alignment with team and store Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring an excellent and courteous customer experience. The role requires active engagement with customers on the sales floor, helping them understand the distinct qualities of Whole Foods Market products compared to conventional brands. Team Members are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness, rotating products according to guidelines, measuring and preparing food batches accurately, and documenting waste and spoilage with precision. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $24.40, commensurate with experience, along with eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package known as Whole Benefits. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing or walking 6-8 hours per day
  • Ability to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Capability for bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • Ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • Ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • Documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • Ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • Helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and products at conventional stores
  • Ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follows and complies with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation and safe work practices
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations
