The position at Whole Foods Market is an entry-level role focused on all functions related to preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of prepared food products. Team members in this role are expected to follow store and team Standard Operating Procedures strictly and be flexible in performing duties inherent to other team member job descriptions as needed. Whole Foods offers a wage range of $16.00 - $25.40 per hour, commensurate with experience, along with comprehensive benefits under the "Whole Benefits" program. New employees who complete 90 days of employment may be eligible for a base rate increase. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing/walking for 6-8 hours per 8-hour shift
  • Hand use requiring single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat and reach frequently
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to various temperatures including freezing and high heat
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • Ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • Ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • Documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • Ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and recipes
  • Helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods products and conventional store products
  • Ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
  • Arrives to work on time, appropriately groomed and dressed
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly
  • Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, and merchandising
  • Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties
  • Reports safety hazards immediately
