Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours per 8-hour shift
  • Ability to perform movements such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures including freezing and hot environments
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders
  • No prior retail experience required
  • Completion of 90-day probation period may be necessary to access certain benefits

Job Duties

  • Assists with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • Ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • Ensures product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • Documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • Ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and recipes
  • Helps customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and conventional store products
  • Ensures walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs timely and models suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximizes sales potential through prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follows and ensures compliance with established procedures including health and sanitation and safe work practices
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations
