This role is an entry-level position, focused on performing all functions related to the preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of high-quality prepared foods within the store. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures ranging below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Assist with production for all prepared foods venues
  • ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • ensure production is performed using correct measuring devices and recipes
  • help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and conventional store products
  • keep walk-in refrigerators and freezers clean and well-organized
  • arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed and dressed
  • provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly
  • maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • follow health and sanitation established procedures
  • maintain clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • immediately report safety hazards and violations
