Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Ability to perform hand use tasks such as single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Capacity to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in cold (freezing and refrigerated) and hot environments
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders
  • No prior retail experience required

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good time management and organizational skills

  • Effective delivery of information to team members, customers, and vendors
  • Understanding and compliance with quality goals

Job Duties

  • Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues
  • Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • Ensure product meets Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • Ensure product production uses correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • Help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and conventional products
  • Keep walk-ins and freezers clean and well organized
  • Arrive on time, groomed, dressed appropriately and ready to work
  • Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly
  • Maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • Follow and comply with Weights and Measures, health, sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Report safety hazards and violations immediately
