This position is for a Dishwashing Team Member within the kitchen and retail environment, playing a crucial role in maintaining overall cleanliness and operational efficiency. The role involves performing all duties related to dishwashing, including washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares. Additionally, the Team Member will maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, ensuring that floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves meet the store's sanitation standards. This position requires adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures, food safety regulations, and health standards.

Team Members in this role are expected to support Whole Foods Market's core values and goals by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and colleagues alike. The position also involves supporting national and regional store programs and initiatives, ensuring accurate signage and pricing, and immediately reporting any safety hazards or violations. Other responsibilities include assisting with kitchen deliveries, proper storage and rotation of products, and performing opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.

Candidates do not need prior retail experience but should demonstrate effective time management skills, a passion for cleanliness, and strong communication abilities. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift, and perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures is anticipated.

The hourly wage ranges from $17.00 to $25.40, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers a competitive benefits package called "Whole Benefits," which includes eligibility for store discounts, paid time off, financial wellness programs, health and wellness support, and other employee perks. Eligibility for benefits depends on work location, length of service, and job type. Additionally, new Team Members who successfully complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a base rate increase.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares
  • Maintains cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area
  • Assists with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner
  • Models suggestive selling techniques
  • Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Maintains equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
