This particular role is an entry-level Dishwashing Team Member position, vital to maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment. The position requires dedication to ensuring all dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly washed, sanitized, and stored according to Whole Foods Market's stringent health and safety standards. Besides dishwashing, team members are responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area, including floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves, to support a safe and hygienic workspace.

Dishwashing Team Members also assist with kitchen deliveries, ensuring that products are appropriately stored, rotated, and organized to maximize freshness and minimize waste. Working cohesively with other team members, this role demands punctuality, adherence to company grooming and dress standards, and active participation in mandatory training and meetings. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • Capable of hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach frequently
  • Willingness to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience using tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares
  • Maintains cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area
  • Assists with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follows and complies with established procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Maintains equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
