The position offered is for a Dishwashing Team Member, an entry-level role vital to maintaining the cleanliness and overall sanitation of the kitchen area within the Whole Foods Market retail environment. This hourly position ranges from $18.00 to $25.40, commensurate with experience. It involves performing essential duties such as washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares. Additionally, the role requires maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves, supporting kitchen deliveries including product storage and organization, and adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.

They work under the guidance of store, regional, and national leadership and are often cross-trained to assist with other team duties. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour work day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares
  • maintain cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area
  • assist with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products
  • arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
  • answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards
  • perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • immediately report safety hazards and violations
  • perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
