Job Requirements
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing or walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday
- hand use involving grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- able to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- able to work in temperatures around 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- able to work in wet and dry conditions
- flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders
Job Qualifications
- 12+ months retail experience
- extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies
- strong organizational and time management skills
- excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- capable of teaching others positively and constructively
- product knowledge
- advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies
- proficient mathematical skills for financial performance, monitoring profitability, and inventory management
- demonstrated decision-making and leadership abilities
- proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members
- works with Prepared Foods Trainer to train Team Members to build and sustain a high-performance team
- assists in training of new Team Members using learning checklists and training materials
- keeps cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated
- opens and closes department according to established procedures
- ensures all necessary breaks are given
- communicates team concerns to Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
- sets and achieves highest standards of retail execution
- fosters a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and high morale
- maintains awareness of customer flows and needs, directs team to satisfy and delight customers
- selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels team members
- provides timely and thorough performance evaluations
- consistently communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals
