The role requires someone who excels in organizational and time management skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members to minimize turnover and maintain high standards of retail execution. A key part of the position is maintaining excellent customer relationships by anticipating customer needs and responding promptly and courteously. The Team Lead also handles performance evaluations and communicates the Whole Foods Market vision and goals to ensure alignment with company values. The position requires compliance with strict health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, and demands proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office and other operational applications.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 12 months retail experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour workday
- Hand use includes single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work in various temperature environments including freezing and warm conditions
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery
- May require use of ladders

- Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills
- Ability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner
- Solid product knowledge
- Advanced understanding of regulatory and safety policies and procedures
- Proficient mathematical skills for financial performance and inventory management
- Demonstrated decision-making and leadership abilities
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications
- Minimum 12 months retail experience
Job Duties
- Supervises and delegates tasks to Prepared Foods team members
- Works with Prepared Foods Trainer to train team members and build a high-performance team
- Assists in training new team members using checklists and training materials
- Keeps all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated
- Opens and closes department according to established procedures
- Ensures all necessary breaks are given
- Communicates team concerns to Team Leader and Associate Team Leader
- Sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution
- Fosters a positive teamwork environment with mutual respect and morale
- Maintains awareness of customer needs and directs team members accordingly
- Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels team members
- Provides thorough and timely performance evaluations
- Consistently communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals
