The Prepared Foods Team Lead role at Whole Foods Market is a dynamic position focused on assisting with the scheduling and supervision of Team Members within the Prepared Foods department. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the department, which includes maintaining attractive prepared foods, coffee, and juice displays to engage and satisfy customers. The Team Lead supports the Prepared Foods Team Leader and Associate Team Leaders, fostering a high-performance team environment built on positive communication, mutual respect, and exceptional morale. This role involves overseeing tasks such as training new Team Members using structured materials, ensuring department cleanliness and stock rotation, and managing opening and closing procedures according to company standards.

The role requires someone who excels in organizational and time management skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members to minimize turnover and maintain high standards of retail execution. A key part of the position is maintaining excellent customer relationships by anticipating customer needs and responding promptly and courteously. The Team Lead also handles performance evaluations and communicates the Whole Foods Market vision and goals to ensure alignment with company values. The position requires compliance with strict health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, and demands proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office and other operational applications.

Physical demands of the position include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform various physical motions such as bending, twisting, and squatting, and the ability to work in varying temperatures that may include cold storage and warmer environments. The work schedule is flexible, covering nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
