Job Description

Whole Foods Market is a leading grocery chain known for its commitment to providing high-quality, natural, and organic foods while supporting sustainable agriculture and community wellness. Founded with a purpose to nourish people and the planet, Whole Foods Market extends its impact beyond just selling groceries. The company actively contributes to improving how people eat, supports educational grants like funding for school gardens, ensures access to fresh and healthy food to those living within food deserts, and dedicates efforts toward alleviating poverty in developing countries. This ethos underscores an organizational culture that doesn’t just prioritize profit but also strives to create meaningful, positive change on a local and global scale. With a reputation as a pioneer and innovator in the grocery industry, Whole Foods Market continues to set high standards for excellence in retail, focusing on sustainability, quality, and community involvement.

This particular role within Whole Foods Market centers on the leadership, supervision, and operational excellence of the Prepared Foods department. The position involves assisting in scheduling, supervising team members, and overseeing the daily flow and quality of the department's offerings, including compelling displays of prepared foods, coffee, and juice. As a key player in the department, the successful candidate will support the Prepared Foods Team Leader and Associate Team Leader to ensure the smooth operation of activities related to prep and presentation that meet Whole Foods' high standards. Furthermore, the position involves fostering teamwork, encouraging high morale, and mentoring the team to build a high-performance culture. The role requires one to maintain vigilance over customer traffic and ensure that customers’ needs are promptly and effectively met. Leadership is critical in coaching, mentoring, and evaluating team members to sustain performance and reduce turnover. Moreover, the role demands adherence to the Whole Foods Market vision and goals with a commitment to national, regional, and store-specific initiatives.

Working in this role entails physical requirements, such as lifting up to 50 pounds and enduring extended periods of standing or walking during an eight-hour shift, as well as operating equipment and handling cleaning chemicals safely. The worker must be capable of working in various temperature settings, including freezing and refrigerated environments, and adapt to flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

The wage range for this position is $16.50 to $29.20 hourly, commensurate with experience, and Whole Foods Market provides a comprehensive benefits package known as "Whole Benefits" which includes access to store discounts, paid time off, health and wellness programs, financial wellness support, and more.
