The role available at Whole Foods Market focuses on the food preparation and maintenance of several vital sections within the store, including the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars. The individual in this role is responsible for food preparation according to specific recipes and production sheets, proper labeling and rotation of products, maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment, and timely replenishment of food supplies. Job Requirements

  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing and walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets
  • prepares food items according to recipe to ensure quality and consistency
  • ensures all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored for quality and freshness, and rotated
  • monitors food levels and replenishes in a timely manner
  • provides excellent customer service and addresses needs of customers promptly
  • models suggestive selling techniques and answers phones and pages courteously
  • maximizes sales through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of product
  • follows and ensures compliance with established procedures including health and sanitation, weights and measures, and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and equipment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
  • immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • performs other duties as assigned by leadership
