Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6-12 months retail or food service experience
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • capacity to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
  • ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in various temperature conditions including freezing and hot environments
  • ability to use tools such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • must arrive to work station on time and be appropriately groomed and dressed

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets
  • prepares food items according to recipes to ensure quality and consistency
  • ensures that all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored for quality and freshness, and rotated
  • monitors food levels and replenishes in a timely manner
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs efficiently, and models suggestive selling techniques
  • follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working environment and ensures equipment is maintained according to Whole Foods Market standards
