The role being offered is a Food Preparation Team Member position at Whole Foods Market. This role focuses on the preparation of food items across various departments such as the cold case, fresh pack, salad bar, and hot bar, ensuring each product meets the company's high standards for quality and presentation. The position involves adhering closely to recipes and production sheets to ensure consistency and quality, accurate labeling and dating of prepared goods, quality monitoring, timely replenishment, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. The individual will be responsible for supporting store programs and initiatives and complying with health and safety regulations. The pay range for this position is hourly from $18.50 to $30.20, based on experience. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing and walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour day
  • Single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets
  • Prepares food items according to recipe to ensure quality and consistency
  • Ensures all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored for quality and freshness, and rotated
  • Monitors food levels and replenishes in a timely manner
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly, models suggestive selling techniques, answers phones and pages courteously
  • Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising of products
  • Follows and enforces compliance with established procedures including health and sanitation
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, including equipment maintenance
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties
  • Reports safety hazards and violations immediately
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership
