The position is focused on food preparation and maintenance in various department areas including the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars, ensuring outstanding food quality, presentation, and customer service. As a Team Member on the food preparation team, you will be responsible for following detailed recipes and production sheets to prepare food items consistently meeting Whole Foods Market’s high standards. The role requires close attention to food labeling, dating, covering, and rotating to maintain freshness and safety. Additionally, the Team Member will handle stocking, sanitation, and maintain adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations, including food safety standards. Job Requirements
- 6-12 months retail experience
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours per day
- ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- must arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed and dressed
- willingness to attend required trainings and meetings

Job Duties
- prepares food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets
- prepares food items according to recipe to ensure quality and consistency
- ensures that all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored for quality and freshness, and rotated
- monitors food levels and replenishes in a timely manner
- provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
- maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- follows and complies with established procedures, including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
