We are currently seeking a skilled Prep Cook / Cook to become an integral part of our community team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation within a senior living setting, focusing on quality, safety, and timely meal production. The position involves preparing food items using standardized recipes, ensuring quality standards in taste, temperature, and appearance are consistently met. You will coordinate food and supplies with serving schedules, maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, follow safety and loss prevention procedures, and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal food handling regulations.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one year of job related experience in food preparation including full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
- Food Services Sanitation Certificate
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to follow recipes and maintain quality standards
- good communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- physical ability to stand for long periods and perform cleaning duties
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- one year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
- culinary apprenticeship or training preferred
- Food Services Sanitation Certificate
Job Duties
- prepares food items using standardized recipes in a timely manner
- determines food and supplies needed and coordinates meal production with serving hours
- monitors all food items to ensure minimum guidelines for temperature, taste, and quality are upheld at all times
- ensures proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes
- maintains or exceeds standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards
- practices all safety and loss prevention procedures
- oversees food storage and checks labels and dates
- completes cleaning duties
- follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling
- maintains food safety equipment records and food safety temperature records
- performs other duties as assigned
