Within this setting, the role of Prep Cook is essential to maintaining the high standards of food quality and safety that guests expect. This full-time role involves preparing and cooking food items following standardized recipes as well as strict food safety guidelines. The Prep Cook will operate under the guidance of the Executive Chef, ensuring all dishes are crafted to perfection and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace.

Job Requirements

  • You are able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • You are able to keep up with a fast paced environment
  • You are 18 years old
  • You are able to perform with minimum supervision
  • U.S. work authorization (required)

Job Qualifications

  • Prior kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and ServSafe procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items according to recipes using correct handling procedures
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately
  • Review any modifications to recipes to meet quality standards with Executive Chef
  • Test food being cooked by properly taste testing and taking food temperatures using proper ServSafe procedures and guidelines
  • Perform food preparation and cooking skills including measuring, washing, peeling, cutting, grilling, baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, carving and portioning foods
  • Maintain knowledge of menu including ingredients and dish assembly
  • Date all food containers and rotate as needed, ensuring perishables are kept at proper temperatures
  • Clean workspace after each shift including food storage containers, labeling of ingredients, scrubbing and sanitizing station
