The Prep Cook and Production Lead position at Kid Shelleen's Branmar Plaza is a full-time opportunity offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $22.00 depending on experience. This role is ideal for experienced prep cooks who thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment and wish to develop their culinary skills within a dynamic team setting. The position entails working with fresh, seasonal, artisanal items to help maintain the high quality and consistent standards HHG is known for. Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years prep cook leadership experience preferred
  • ServSafe certification is a plus
  • must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to supervisors, employees, dining room staff and guests
  • must be able to read and write to facilitate communication
  • must be able to stand and move with well-paced mobility for up to eight hours
  • must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • must possess finger dexterity to use small tools adeptly
  • availability must include days, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of prep cook leadership experience preferred
  • culinary training or relevant certifications a plus
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively with kitchen staff and management
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • basic math and reading skills to facilitate ingredient measurement and recipe comprehension

Job Duties

  • Prepare and portion ingredients in accordance with recipes and production schedules
  • lead and coordinate kitchen prep activities to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station and kitchen areas
  • monitor ingredient inventory and communicate supply needs to management
  • ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
  • collaborate closely with culinary team members and front-of-house staff to support smooth kitchen operations
