Job Requirements
- at least 16 years of age and authorized to work in the US
- able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
- reliable and punctual
- able to follow health department standards and safety guidelines
Job Qualifications
- minimum of 1 year of experience in the restaurant industry
- minimum of 6 months experience in a high-volume restaurant setting preferred
- ability to communicate clearly with teammates and the management team
- familiarity with kitchen equipment such as knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, and scales
- understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- able to perform physical tasks required in kitchen operations
Job Duties
- assume 100% responsibility for the quality, food safety/sanitation, and timeliness of dishes served
- be well-acquainted with all menu items, recipes, plating guidelines, and sanitation/basic safety information
- prepare a variety of food items using knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, scales, and portion bags
- show up when scheduled and prepare, stock, and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth service
- maintain a clean and sanitary work station including tables, shelves, broilers, sauté, burners, ovens, flat top griddles, and refrigeration equipment both during and after service
- handle, store, and rotate all products properly in accordance with health department standards
- close the kitchen properly and follow the opening and closing checklist for kitchen stations completing deep clean projects
