The company operates within a vibrant region and seeks motivated individuals who are ready to contribute to the kitchen operations with enthusiasm and skill.
This role is for a Part-time, Seasonal Kitchen Staff member with a pay range of $13 to $14 per hour, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work schedules in a bustling kitchen environment. The position involves preparing meal ingredients, making simple dishes, and contributing to the smooth flow of kitchen operations under the guidance of senior culinary staff. While the job duties may vary depending on specific roles within the kitchen team, this position primarily supports the food preparation process and the daily functioning of the kitchen.
More detailed responsibilities include preparing fresh produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning, preparing meat by trimming and cutting, making simple dishes like popcorn or salads, and cooking dishes while monitoring consistency, presentation, and taste. Additionally, this role may encompass managing kitchen inventory levels, conducting stock counts, and placing orders as needed to ensure the kitchen operates without interruption. The kitchen team member will also play a part in maintaining kitchen equipment, fostering a positive work environment, and acting as the primary point of contact in the absence of higher management.
The role requires individuals who can work efficiently in fast-paced and sometimes stressful kitchens, emphasizing teamwork, personal hygiene, and adherence to workplace safety and sanitation standards. The successful candidate will be comfortable standing for extended periods, working under varying temperature conditions such as heat and cold, and demonstrating manual dexterity for food preparation tasks. A high school diploma or vocational training in kitchen basics, particularly food safety, is preferred, along with prior experience in a similar role. This opportunity is ideal for those who appreciate culinary work, want to develop their skills further, and be part of a collaborative kitchen team.
The establishment values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applications from individuals regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected classification. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Columbia, SC before starting the position and work onsite to align with the kitchen team. The company also provides essential benefits including dental and health insurance, paid time off, vision insurance, employee discounts, and flexible scheduling to support work-life balance and employee well-being.
