This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within the arena environment preparing diverse food items in alignment with the company’s standards. The role demands a detail-oriented individual who possesses knowledge of food service and preparation, understands the importance of food safety, and is capable of maintaining a sanitary and organized workspace. Candidates must be comfortable working in dynamic environments with potentially high-volume service periods, adapting to the fast-paced nature of events at the venues. The primary focus is on preparing recipes according to specifications, managing ingredient inventory, ensuring proper food storage and temperature control, and maintaining a clean work area.

Employees will have the chance to develop their culinary skills while directly contributing to the success of events by preparing quality food items that meet the expectations of customers and the Food and Beverage department. The role requires flexibility as it involves working at all Legends Global venues across Wichita and Andover, and the applicant must be willing to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Attention to detail, ability to follow directions precisely, and maintaining a positive attitude are crucial for success in this role.

This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and requires adherence to the company’s grooming, dress code standards, and Food and Beverage policies. Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team will facilitate smooth kitchen operations. The physical demands include occasional lifting up to 45 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, and working in temperature-variable environments such as walk-in refrigerators and freezers. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • prior work in kitchen or food preparation preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • ability to lift up to 45 pounds
  • hand and finger dexterity to chop, dice, prep food, open and close containers
  • ability to enter walk-in refrigerators and freezers
  • must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily
  • must comply with sanitary and food safety standards
  • must take direction well
  • must maintain regular attendance
  • must be able to work at all Legends Global venues in Wichita and Andover

Job Qualifications

  • Prior catering or kitchen work in food service
  • basic math skills
  • ability to follow directions and effectively perform work

Job Duties

  • Prepare recipes as directed
  • measure ingredients and prepare them in accordance with chef's specifications
  • wash and peel ingredients for use in different meals
  • cut and portion different types of meat according to specifications
  • prepare different types of food carefully following recipes
  • accept or reject ingredients from food supplier based on appearance and quality
  • keep track of ingredient quantities and ensure adequate supply for the day/week/event
  • store ingredients in dedicated containers ensuring proper preservation
  • clean and sanitize working surfaces, tools, utensils, and work area
  • monitor food and cooling room temperatures to ensure proper storage
  • take direction well
  • maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work area
  • follow Food and Beverage department rules and regulations
  • maintain regular attendance
  • work at all Legends Global venues in Wichita and Andover as needed
  • perform other duties as assigned
