The role available is a full-time Prep Cook position located at NBCUniversal - 100 University City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608. The position operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, providing employees with a reliable schedule that supports work-life balance. The Prep Cook will work closely with chefs to meet daily production demands, ensuring food safety and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations. Key responsibilities involve operating kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the preparation area, and ensuring proper storage and labeling of food products in compliance with HACCP guidelines.

In this role, the Prep Cook will enhance the customer dining experience by preparing and assembling meals efficiently, following portion control standards and quality benchmarks. The position requires proficiency in knife skills and a valid Food Handler's card. Employees must be capable of standing for long periods and able to adapt to a fast-paced kitchen environment. Job Duties

  • Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the chef
  • Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
  • Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
  • Store, label, and date all food items according to policy
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure food safety
  • Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
  • Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
  • Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control
  • Resolve customer concerns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
